Sarah Jane was born on 7 August 1984 Geelong, Australia, where he started playing golf at age 12. Her progress was so stunning that even two years later she went to junior tournaments across the continent. After attending the 2004 World Cup in the tournament, Smith underwent an amateur career ended and took up professional golf.

Since 2005, playing regularly in the Duramed Futures Tour and ALPGA Tour, has so far won some smaller tournaments (2005 Tampa Bay FUTURES Golf Classic, 2008 ILOVENY Championship).
